Our e-learning fee covers the classroom content. After finishing the online portion, you can sign up for the live-fire range qualification. We provide both weekday and weekend sessions for this. The $35 fee for the shooting qualification also covers the range costs. Completing both the e-learning and range sessions is necessary to receive the certification for the Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit.
If you are not local to us, we have partnered with several other ranges and instructors around the state to make the process as seamless as possible for you. We currently have qualification locations arranged in these cities but are adding more quickly.
The course is limited to a single person per email address. The course includes a certification; therefore, each person must complete the course individually for time tracking and certificate purposes.

With the upcoming expiration of my CHP, I was looking for an option to complete the required coursework and qualifications that fit into my schedule between work, family and other commitments. I was delighted to discover Bearco now offers an e-learning course that allowed me to complete the required hours on my own schedule from the comfort of my home (and even via my smartphone while safely parked waiting for kid’s activities to conclude).
While there is plenty to cover, Barret divides the lessons into bite-sized pieces and the content is engaging with videos, stories, graphics and section highlights. I actually took pages of notes because there is plenty I want to remember. His tone is both measured and authoritative. It’s clear is ultimate goal is your personal safety, and he’s not there to coach on how to “be the hero.”
He also provided great resources to other organizations and vendors that support the CHP community. Registration was easy. Barret is very accessible with making arrangements and I consider our community fortunate to have his professionalism and leadership so readily available. I highly recommend this course to anyone, regardless of experience level.
This course was exceptional in many ways. It was exceptionally organized with very well-edited videos filled with important information. I never felt like the course was wasting any time – every moment was filled with information. I appreciated the security procedures incorporated into the course and the sincerity with which it was taught. Barret’s technical staff and video editors did an excellent job. It was very clear that Barret is a master at firearm instruction, and I very much appreciate the hybrid option of this course. One of the most important things I learned is just how much I did not know and how much more I still need to learn. I cannot recommend Barret and this course enough.
I could not recommend this course enough! Most people will claim the idea of letting people learn about gun safety and laws for conceal carry over the internet is outright goofy. Well they are wrong. The videos are created perfectly to keep you locked in. After speaking to friends and family who have taking the conceal carry course in person, it seemed I knew more about the safety, the laws, and even scenarios that could be encounter and how to handle them correctly and safely! I WOULD EVEN GO AS FAR AS RECOMMENDING THIS COURSE TO PEOPLE WHO HAVE ALREADY DONE/OR EVEN HAVE THEIR CONCEAL CARRY PERMIT! I can almost bet you will learn something you didn’t know or you will feel more comfortable in the idea of having a firearm around. Bearco Conceal Carry Online course has already been sent to friends and family of mine, whether they want their conceal carry permit or not, I think this is just the absolute best thing anyone can watch and learn from! On-line course worked best with my schedule as I learn better by what felt like person-to-person instruction, taking notes as well as being able to view the lessons over and over, not wanting to miss anything. Using links included, I was able to visit recommended sites which felt like a bonus. The material was in-depth but explained so simply, I found my time on-line exciting.
As title says, I didn’t want the course to end!
The online course is very well done. It’s broken down into sections that are not long and the content is very informative. Barrett is well spoken, and keeps you engaged in the subject. The different courses made me aware and think about how defending ones self, with lethal force, can have many ramifications that I wasn’t aware or thought of. Well done and very helpful. Recommend this course to everyone carrying a gun for self defense even if they don’t do it with a Cancelled Carry Permit
