We had our 2019 Louisiana Shooting Association Annual Meeting today. After serving 1 year as an alternate board member, and the 2 most recent years as a full board member, I was up for re-election. I have been re-elected for another 2-year term. Most of my involvement with the LSA is representing Louisiana gun owners during our state legislative session. I will continue to be active by providing testimony during the house and senate committees to protest or support bills.
Erin Luper, our NRA-ILA state representative was present to provide a recap of 2018 and to talk about what to expect for the 2019 legislative session. We have been mostly on the defense because of a large amount of anti-gun bills that keep coming through. This year will likely be the same because it is an election year.
Are you a member of the LSA? The LSA is your voice at the state level. The LSA has spearheaded some of the best changes to our carry laws as well put a stop to much of the worst. The LSA provides a lot for the minimal $15/year fee. Please consider joining. https://louisianashooting.com/join/
